A school that teaches children about climate change and sustainable living

This video clip comes from Cowandilla Primary School, in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. This school is called a “Climate change focus school”, and has a focus teaching children about climate change and then to take action by reducing their ecological footprint and living sustainably. The children gain confidence, skills and knowledge and pass these onto their parents and younger children. What a great role model of a school!

Climate Reality’s 100% COMMITTED Campaign

Ready to reach out beyond our individual effort to reduce our carbon footprint to help heal our planet’s climate crisis? Let’s get our local communities (schools, universities, workplaces, businesses, towns or cities) excited about becoming committed to changing to 100% renewable clean energy use. Climate Reality’s 100% COMMITTED campaign will provide clear and ongoing support on how to achieve this goal. Together with communities across the globe, we can help to stop and reverse climate change, and create a healthy planet for future generations, giving us a deep sense of satisfaction, connection and purpose.
Take 1 Million Women’s CARBON CHALLENGE

When we care about the global environmental crisis and want to be part of the healing process, the first thing we can do is make changes in our own lives – to live sustainably, in ways which reduce our carbon footprint. 1Million Women’s CARBON CHALLENGE shows us how we can do this effectively, simply and enjoyably.

Towards Sustainable Transport

As this INFOGRAPHIC here shows, we can prioritize sustainable forms of travel for our daily commutes and occasional longer travels, and gain benefits and satisfaction along the way. Transportation is responsible for 27% of greenhouse gases emitted in the US, so we will be helping to reduce that and our individual carbon footprint.

Plastic Pollution – The problem, and how we can be part of the solution

Here are some facts about plastic pollution -what are the problems, and how we can be part of the solution. Stopping plastic pollution will benefit our health, as well as the health and wellbeing of sea life, sea birds, oceans, groundwater, the land and our atmosphere. Our urgent attention is required. See the INFOGRAPHIC attached for ways to be part of the solution of stopping plastic pollution.
Calling all Seniors

Calling all Seniors, baby boomers. We are Elders of the tribes. In this time of global climate change, much needs to be done to heal our planet. As the INFOGRAPHIC here shows, Seniors have much to offer – our wisdom, our experience, and our time. Each of us can offer our unique skills and together, when we speak out, we can effect urgently needed changes. Be assured that in return we’ll gain invaluable gifts of being connected, sense of purpose, and satisfaction.
MUST WE CHANGE? CAN WE CHANGE? WILL WE CHANGE?

Former US Vice President Al Gore says there are only three questions remaining to answer about our planet under the present climate crisis: “MUST WE CHANGE?”, “CAN WE CHANGE?” and “WILL WE CHANGE?” The answers are:
YES, WE MUST CHANGE!
The resounding answer is: “YES, WE MUST CHANGE!” Our planet has been sending out unmistakable signs of being under stress. 97% of climate scientists agree that scientific evidence points to global climate change, and that these changes are a result of human activities.
The evidence include: Extremes in temperature, increase in extreme weather related events, warming oceans, ocean acidification, sea level rise, reduced snow cover, loss of glaciers, Arctic sea ice loss, shrinking ice sheets, increase in droughts and increase in wildfires. WE MUST take action now to reverse global warming and its related climate crises.
YES, WE CAN CHANGE!
The good news is, “YES, WE CAN CHANGE!” (At the time of this writing,) every nation in the world has signed the Paris Climate Agreement of Dec 2015, agreeing to work towards achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by mid Century or as soon as possible after that. The way to curb greenhouse gases and thus global warming is clear. Clean renewable energies such as solar and wind power are now highly efficient and price competitive (with fossil fuel energy) and ripe for worldwide deployment.
Individuals around the world are reducing their carbon footprints, living sustainably, and advocating for changes from policy makers; corporations and governments are producing innovative technologies and processes to transition to sustainable living and clean renewable energy use, creating new jobs and improving economies along the way. With joint effort from around the globe, we can meet the targets of the Paris Climate Agreement and stop the climate crisis.
YES, WE WILL CHANGE!
The unwavering answer is, “YES, WE WILL CHANGE!” Once we realize the call to action comes from our Mother Earth, whom we know we are a part of, and without whom we know there is no future for any life on earth, we put aside all differences, and do our part to stop climate change. Our human family has proven our determination, effort and courage in face of past challenges in history. This global climate crisis is the greatest challenge ever to face humanity, and ours is the era called on to take up this challenge. Let us all rise up to the occasion and say without any hesitation that “YES, WE WILL” work together to heal our planet.
